THREE STILLS FROM PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4
Three stills from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, opening nationwide on October 19th, have hit the web. The clips, the teasers, nor the official trailer, have really given much away (remember when trailers didn’t just show you all the good parts so you didn’t even bother going to see the movie?), and the horror world is staying very quiet about this film just as with the other PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films.
What we do know is PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 follows the story of Hunter Rey who is now six years old and Katie. They have moved into a house together as mother and son and suddenly the neighbours start to experience the same hauntings that occured to Katie and Kristi’s family. In the last installment, we learned a bit about how things began, perhaps in this installment, we’ll learn how things will end.
The film is being directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who directed the third film) for Paramount Pictures based on a script by Zack Estrin (a writer/executive producer on ABC’s “The River”). Returning is Katie Featherston, who played Katie, who has appeared in all the films so far. And there are some rumors out there that Joost’s girlfriend, GLEE‘s Diana Agron, might make a cameo appearance.

I am so excited for this installment of the story! I never try to base my expectations of these movies on the trailers, as they generally have nothing to do with the actual film. I started watching these moves at the instance of a co-worker at Dish. I was hesitant at first, but I gave it a chance and ordered it with Blockbuster @Home. After watching the first movie I immediately ordered the rest by mail, exchanging one in the store because of my impatience. I love that these movies manage to be terrifying without resorting to the normal tactics of horror films. They prey on our fears of what goes bump in the night, and at the end of the day what could be scarier?
