THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS GETS NOVEMBER RELEASE DATE
We realize that news has been hitting for this film for some time now, but I’ve been working on other things and Kung Fu flicks generally don’t fall under the purview of the wandering Backwoods Horror eye. However, after waiting and watching, we’ve become more and more intrigued. After all, the film harkens back to kung fu exploitation flicks of yesteryear and it boasts quite a bit of the red red groovy. So here you are, faithful readers, everything that’s hit the web so far about the upcoming kung fu splatter-fest, THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS which Universal has announced will be hitting theaters November 2, 2012.
The flick, directed by and starring RZA, also stars Russell Crowe, Pam Grier, Jamie Chung, and Lucy Liu. Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth are producing. The film centers on a blacksmith (RZA) in feudal China (makes TOTAL sense, but hey, we’re not going to be watching this flick for its historically realistic aspects) who makes weapons for a small village. He is put in the position where he must defend himself and his fellow villagers.
