VIDEO: THE FIRST CLIP FROM RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION

An unfinished fight scene clip from RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION has been making the rounds on the internet of late. By unfinished, I mean there are some missing sound cues and syncing. As it’s a leaked clip, there’s a good chance it’ll be taken down soon. I was unable to find it anywhere other than Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central myself, which means Sony may already be on the rampage with cease and desists. Check it out after the synopsis below. Written and directed by Paul Anderson, RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION stars Milla Jovovich, Boris Kodjoe, Li Bingbing, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, and Colin Salmon. Look for RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION in theaters on September 14, 2012, from Sony Screen Gems.

SYNOPSIS:

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice, awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

ADA, JILL, CARLOS, & RAIN IN ANOTHER BATCH OF RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION PHOTOS

Another day, another batch of RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION marketing photos. In this case, Alice is left out of the crop and minor characters Ada, Jill, Carlos, and Rain get their time in the sun. All of them, of course, are armed as, judging from every other RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION still and poster I’ve seen, is mandatory. Check ’em out after the synopsis below.

NEW INTERNATIONAL POSTER FOR RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION ACTUALLY FEATURES ZOMBIES

Source: Bloody-Disgusting

Sony Screen Gems’ forthcoming RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION, directed once again by Paul W.S. Anderson, is less than two months away and we’re starting to see an “ultimate saturation” point with the marketing materials. A few weeks back we showed you a one-sheet featuring Alice (Milla Jovovich) going global (at least that was the tagline). But now a new international poster has decided that the look from two weeks ago would go over better gussied up with some zombies. I’ve included both below the jump for comparison.

CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS REMAKE OFFICIALLY IN THE WORKS

Who knows why, but the camp classic CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS, directed by the late, great Bob Clark, is being remade. Seriously, folks…stop it with the remakes already! Particularly remakes of cult classics much of today’s audience has never heard of. That being said, Fangoria Entertainment and Anchor Bay Entertainment are teaming up to make a new version of  Clark’s ’70s zombie flick a reality. Drew Daywalt scripted the update and Tom Savini is on board to direct so with any luck the special makeup effects will be up to par. I wonder if the remake will retain the same campy humor so prevalent in the original.

In the original film thespians, led by Alan Ormsby’s character, go to a graveyard on a remote island to perform a necromantic ritual. The ritual works and soon the dead are walking about and chowing down on human flesh. The remake, from what we know so far, follows a similar storyline with a group of filmmakers  accidently awakening the undead. Zombie mayhem ensues.

ZOMBIE THEME PARK PROPOSED FOR DETROIT

Posted on 3rd July 2012 by aaron in News,Video - Tags: , , , , , ,

From the Huffington Post:

Why wait for the zombie apocalypse? One man wants customers to experience the terror now. With soaring budget deficits and population on the decline, Detroit has become a laboratory for testing out creative solutions for cities, like urban farming and pedestrian-friendly greenway trails.

Mark Siwak says he has his own idea for bettering the city — a live-action zombie theme park set in one of Detroit’s abandoned neighborhoods.Paying customers would be chased by a growing horde of zombies (all professionals) through a cordoned-off, desolate section of the city, seeking shelter in abandoned homes and factories and businesses.

Z World creator Siwak, who has launched a fundraiser on IndieGoGo (he’s raised $2,800 of the $140,000 needed to meet his goal), says that the city of Detroit needs to consider creative solutions to areas of urban blight.

Siwak told CBS Detroit that “the city can only have so many urban farms or similar uses for vacant plots.’

And while he’s far away from his funding goals, not to mention permission from the City of Detroit, he says he’s already getting resumes from Detroiters who’d like their next 9-to-5 to focus on eating brains and staggering through the streets.

On his site, Siwak assured, “while zombies are great, the real neat thing about this project is the potential to inject some life into a forgotten neighborhood – with the opportunity to work with neighborhood groups and organization.”

Check out the video below for more information. I hope he gets the funds necessary to complete the project. I’d go visit detroit for a huge zombie apocalypse theme park. WHO WOULDN’T?! And be sure to check out his fundraiser site to learn more about the project!
