Ben Templesmith, the artist on 30 Days Of Night, is having his comic WELCOME TO HOXFORD brought to the big screen by Chris Columbus’ 1492 production house.  Very little word so far, but the basic synopsis involves a psychiatrist who must team with a deeply disturbed patient in order to escape werewolves who run an institution for the criminally insane.  Uh…oooookay?  I love werewolves, but I have a feeling this one’s gonna suck.  Scan your peepers over some cool cover art below:

Found this over at SHOCK TILL YOU DROP.  Some potential conceptual artwork for the WOLFMAN transformation.  This is one of my more anticipated flicks of 2009.  Check out the art below.

Just picked up this bit of news from Fangoria’s site:

Lionsgate Home Entertainment announced that the British werewolfilm WILD COUNTRY, lensed back in 2005, will at last see U.S. DVD release December 16, and gave us a first look at the cover art. Written and directed by Craig Strachan with makeup FX designed by HELLRAISER’s Bob Keen, the film is about a church youth group that goes hiking in the Scottish highlands, during which they find an abandoned baby in a crumbling castle. When they decide to take the infant with them back to civilization, they start getting killed off by a murderous lycanthrope. Special features, if any, have yet to be announced; retail price is $19.98. Look for a set-visit article on WILD COUNTRY in Fango #279, on sale in December. -Michael Gingold

Here’s that cover art:

Could be interesting.  I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.  I’m currently working on a story/script that, in my opinion, would be the ULTIMATE werewolf flick.

Niles Has Gone SAVAGE

The boys over at Shock Till You Drop came across some news that Steve Niles (of 30 Days of Night fame) and company have created a new comic entitled SAVAGE.  The premise of the comic is as follows:  BIGFOOT vs. A PACK OF WEREWOLVES.  And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a healthy dose of murderers and madmen.  This sounds like a pretty damn awesome project and I can’t wait to read it.  The book streets October 29th with the first in a four part series.  Check out the first issue’s cover art below:
