UPDATE 2: WARNER BROS. WERE ON US LIKE WHITE ON RICE LESS THAN AN HOUR AFTER POSTING! GOOD JOB TO THEIR SHARP EYED LEGAL DEPT. NOW WE KNOW WHY THEY MAKE SO DAMN MUCH! SO THAT’S A WRAP, UNFORTUNATELY. OTHERWISE THEY’RE GOING TO, I DON’T KNOW, CALL JOHNNY LAW ON ME OR SUE ME, AND I’D RATHER REMAIN ON FRIENDLY TERMS WITH MEDIA GROUPS TO KEEP THIS SITE GOING! SORRY ‘BOUT IT, BUT I HOPE YOU CAUGHT IT WHILE YOU COULD!
UPDATE: I HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE VIDEO ANYWHERE ELSE, BUT HERE IT IS FOR BACKWOODS HORROR READERS! LOOK UPON ITS GLORY AFTER THE BREAK!
It’s taken two-years for this video to leak and it’s getting pulled down in a hurry everywhere. Act fast if you want to see it. Don’t be surprised if it’s already gone by the time you hit PLAY.
I’ve just played the SDCC GODZILLA Teaser Trailer now about 5 or 6 times. It’s fucking BRILLIANT! While not much of the big guy can be seen, plenty of what he has wrought is…and it looks like this time Legendary has done right by the fans. Take a look after the break, but don’t wait too long because this little bit of leaked video is being taken down everywhere.
During a licensing expo in Brazil, someone snapped a sneaky photograph of one of the new posters that, at last, gives us our first glimpse at what Legendary Pictures’s new GODZILLA will look like, staying true to the rumors that they’re sticking very close to the classic design as opposed to a giant iguana. All we’ve had up until this point has been a fuzzy image clouded by haze or dust and a brief glimpse as seen on the Godzilla Experience at SDCC. Get a good look after the jump while you can because there’s probably a good chance that Legendary will be sending me an email asking me (and others) to take the post down.
Little has been released about the film thus far, but we are looking at a project that involves one hell of a cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Richard T. Jones, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Patrick Sabongui, Yuki Morita, Brian Markinson, Juliette Binoche, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, C.J. Adams, and Ken Watanabe.
I didn’t pick up on this story when it first hit the press last year, but it recently came to my attention during a conversation with a friend of mine who, like me, is quite the fan of all things Vincent Price. When I posted the story yesterday of the new Scream Factory Vincent Price Collection, he reminded me that there have been some rumors that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp were in talks with Warner Brothers to do a remake of THEABOMINABLEDR. PHIBES while they collaborated on the ridiculously awful DARKSHADOWS remake.
It was announced last week that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has gained exclusive rights to physical Blu-ray and DVD distribution of more than 600 Paramount catalog titles (Paramount keeps VOD rights). While nothing major was announced, horror fans have been in a frenzy hoping that we’ll now see that Friday the 13th Blu-ray box set we’ve been demanding.
Daniel Farrands, producer of the absolutely incredible A Nightmare on Elm Street documentary “Never Sleep gain,” already has inside word from Warners regarding the future of the Friday franchise: “It’s confirmed that Warner Bros. DID acquire the F13th titles from Paramount,” Farrands states on his Facebook page. “But they haven’t yet decided whether they will release a full Blu-ray box set or simply release “one offs” of each title.”
What’s exciting is that we can now have one solid set that contains Friday the 13th through Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan alongside Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason!
