In more WALKINGDEAD news, AMC has released a behind-the-scenes video for THE WALKING DEAD Season 4 hosted by WALKINGDEAD comic creator, and executive producer of the AMC series, Robert Kirkman. Check it out below! The series stars Andrew Lincoln, David Morrissey, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Emily Kinney. Season 4 of THE WALKING DEAD returns to AMC in October 13 at 9pm ET.
In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.).
It is well known that instead of starting with Rick talking into his walkie-talkie and then the group being pretty much already out of Atlanta, the original plan for THE WALKING DEAD‘s season 2 premiere was to pick up just seconds after the CDC was blown to bits in the season 1 finale. I was on set playing the part of a zombie for an intense sequence in which Shane’s car breaks down just a few blocks away from the explosion, leaving him isolated from the group and having to fight off and outrun an army of the undead before finally being rescued by the group in the RV. But what happened after that?
In this clip following Shane’s rescue, we see the survivors trying to seek shelter with some familiar faces from season 1— Guillermo and the Vatos. But when Rick and Co. arrive back at the nursing home where Glenn was once held hostage, well…the people they find there are not people at all, setting off a frenzied attack.
Be sure to tune right on in (unless you have DISH Network) October 14 when The Walking Dead returns to AMC, and don’t forget to pick up Season 2 on special edition Blu-ray and DVD on August 28th.

THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON is the much anticipated next chapter to the acclaimed post zombie apocalypse series. When we last left the “The Walking Dead,” the characters were in the midst of a high-intensity struggle to survive, fleeing the CDC as it burst into flames. In Season 2 they are still fighting zombies, and each other, facing more threats and obstacles than ever before.
Based on the hugely successful and popular comic books written by Robert Kirkman, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” captures the ongoing human drama after a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, instead of the zombies, it’s the living who still remain that may be the biggest threat. Jon Bernthal (Rampart) plays Shane Walsh, Rick’s sheriff’s department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies (“Prison Break”), is Rick’s wife, Lori. THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON cast also includes Laurie Holden (Fantastic Four), Steven Yeun (My Name is Jerry), Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints), Jeffrey DeMunn (The Shawshank Redemption), Chandler Riggs (Get Low), Iron E. Singleton (Seeking Justice) and Melissa McBride (The Mist). Guest stars for the second season include Lauren Cohan (“Chuck”), Scott Wilson (Monster) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Constantine).
“The Walking Dead” is a hit with both audiences and critics. The first season won the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or Special and was nominated for Emmys® in Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series and Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series. Season 1 also garnered a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Television Series – Drama and was named to the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Top 10 Programs of the Year (2010), among other accolades.

Check out the video below for the cast and crew talking a bit about what to expect in season 3 of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD while on the set shooting the first episode. From what they have to say, it sounds like we’re going to get a wild ride in the new season which works for me. More zombie violence and mayhem…less soap opera and wondering if Carl is in the house. Fingers crossed!
