THE OFFICIAL TRAILER HAS HIT FOR KIM HENKEL’S BONEBOYS!

Back in December 2010, we here at Backwoods Horror first reported on some rumblings about a new project directed by WILD MAN OF THE NAVIDAD writer/directors Duane Graves, and Justin Meeks titled BONEBOYS. In that report, we wrote that Kim Henkel, co-creator of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and writer/director of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION had ventured into cannibal territory once again. Then, a few weeks ago, we learned that the film would premiere at the 16th annual Fantasia Film Festival, but things have been quiet on the project since.

Now, in celebration of the premiere, the official trailer has hit the web. Check it out after the synopsis along with the official poster below. And be sure to check out the BONEBOYS official website and facebook page, as well as here at Backwoods Horror for more information as it develops. As of this writing, TCM series alumni Ed Neal and Bill Johnson are rumored to have roles in the film with Ali Faulkner, Johnny Walter, Derek Lee Nixon, Tory Tompkins, Gregory Kelly and Sonny Carl Davis also starring.

SYNOPSIS:

A gut-wrenching, non-stop roller coaster ride through the hellish underbelly of inner-city America. A birthday celebration at an upscale restaurant sets in motion events that bring Sissy, her brother, Mikey, and friends, Kenny and Barbie, face to face with the macabre world of the Boneboys. Inspired by Jonathan Swift’s cannibalistic tale A Modest Proposal, the Boneboys are international predators who deal in human flesh – dead or alive. Their hunting grounds are the cities of the world.

A TEASER TRAILER & SYNOPSIS HIT THE WEB FOR THE ‘GOAT MAN’

Source: Dread Central

GOAT MAN is a short directed by Lionell Hilliard that recently finished production and is looking to hit the festival circuit. Dig the image below and the trailer. The film is F/X heavy with Phil Nichols (aka The Fiendish Dr. Phil) of Facades FX running the show. The Facades FX team for GOAT MAN also included Melissa Nichols and Melissa Gale Dabney.

SYNOPSIS:

There’s a widely spread piece of Texas folklore about a legendary creature appearing to be half-man and half-goat. It’s seen about as often as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster. Whether it’s good or evil is anyone’s guess…but it’s interesting, nonetheless.

The story of the origin of Goat Man takes place in the late 1800s. A small town political figure, living alone with only his married West Indian servants, has decided to run for office and is a sure fit for the position in question. That is, unless, his deep dark secret exposes him: He often takes up with his farm animals. As you might imagine, karma comes to collect when his conquest of choice, his she-goat, gives birth to the hideous creature we come to know as the GOAT MAN.

RED BAND TRAILER HITS FOR ‘BREATHLESS’ STARRING GINA GERSHON

Check out the new red band trailer and clip for Anchor Bay’s horror-comedy BREATHLESS, directed by Jesse Baget and starring Gina Gershon, Kelli Giddish, Val Kilmer, and Ray Liotta, coming to DVD and Blu-ray August 14th.

From the Press Release:

In Texas the most deadly weapon is an unappreciated woman. On August 14th, 2012, Anchor Bay Films presents the gory, cunning comedy/thriller that will leave a welcomed bad taste in your mouth with Breathless. This Texas Gothic tale from director Jesse Baget (Wrestlemaniac, the upcoming Cellmates) and Academy Award® winning executive producer Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker) comes to Blu-ray™/DVD Combo for an SRP of $29.99 and DVD for an SRP of $26.98.

Lorna (Gina Gershon, Showgirls, P.S. I Love You) is a strong-willed Texas woman who’s had enough of her untrustworthy husband, Dale’s (Val Kilmer, Top Gun, Batman Forever), criminal acts and lack of husbandry. Fed up, she enlists the help of her old friend, Tiny (Kelli Giddish, NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), to help her figure out what to do with Dale after his latest double-cross involving the theft of $100,000 from a bank.

As the girls brainstorm for a “neat” solution, they medicate themselves with only the best of prescriptions – Tennessee whiskey – which leads them to even bigger problems. When Sheriff Cooley (Ray Liotta, Goodfellas, Hannibal) inconveniently enters the conundrum, the story evolves into a tale of revenge and survival that resolves in true Texas fashion: bold and ruthless.

Breathless is co-written, directed and edited by Jesse Baget and co-written by Stefania Moscato. Mark Holder, Danny Roth and Christine Holder produced, with Nadine De Barros and Nicolas Chartier as executive producers. Music is by Jermaine Stegall, Bill Otto is Director of Photography and Nathan Lay is Production Designer.

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D PLOT REVELATIONS

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

I have this sick sensation that TCM 3D is going to blow, but then, I always have that feeling whenever I hear about remakes/re-imaginings/rip-offs/hollywood-in-general. Blood, grue, gore, splatter…all in 3D, sure I’ll give it a shot if it hits theaters, I loved watching the MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake in 3D, but it was still a shit movie (tits in 3D was a nice touch, however). Anyway, the boys over at Shock Til You Drop got their claws on a bit of leaked plot details for the upcoming TCM 3D…

Spoiler alert! (Had to say it.)

The new film, set today, will see the authorities and some angry townspeople ambushing the Sawyer home – where Jeb Stuart is accused of carrying out his butchering.

Hooper, the local by-the-book sheriff, had agreed to give Leatherface/Jeb Sawyer a fair trial and grant him a good lawyer…. But that’s before local mayor Burt Hartman, an imposing town tough-guy, arrives with a mob to see that the murderer/s don’t even make it past their front door. Though they both want justice, Hooper and Burt have different methods. Things escalate when Burt’s mob start tying ropes to trees, prepping for a hanging, and ultimately throw a flaming cocktail into the Sawyer home… burning the place, and it’s residents (including Jeb’s father, Drayton, played by Bill Moseley), to the ground.

Goodbye Sawyers…goodbye Leatherface?

You can guess what happens next : The Chainsaw killings start up again (there’s a fun sequence at a carnival where our villain starts chopping away at the attendees) and Hooper is forced to believe that Jeb Stuart somehow survived the fire and is back for revenge. But is it Jeb? And if not, who is it? and why have they surfaced?

To entice the young ones, there’s a young heroine in the film, Heather who – Halloween H20 should maybe get a ’special thanks’ in the credits – learns she has a disturbing connection to the murderous Sawyer. Heather’s a bit of a hornbag but possibly more disturbing is her taste for things of a darker nature (not just referring to her boyfriend either) – like her art pieces which border on revolting. Still, there’s good in this family member and enough intelligence and determination to find out what’s really going on.

‘BONEBOYS’ FINDS KIM HENKEL BACK IN CANNIBAL TERRITORY

Kim Henkel, writer of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and writer/director of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION has ventured into cannibal territory again with BONEBOYS.  Serving as the writer and producer of the film, he’s teaming up once again with the directing duo of Justin Meeks and Duane Graves.  Kim Henkel, along with being their screenwriting professor in college, served as producer on the team’s last film THE WILD MAN OF THE NAVIDAD.

The Dallas News gives a brief synopsis: The story tells of a group of people who have adopted the philosophy found in Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal” in which the author suggests cannibalism ain’t so bad.

As of this writing, TCM series alumni Ed Neal and Bill Johnson are set to have roles in the film.

SHIN JEONG-WON’S GIANT KOREAN HOG MOVIE

So, apparently there’s a Giant Killer HAWG (Boar) flick called CHAW (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, sounds like it should be a flick about killer chewbaccy!) coming out of some Asian country, Korea I think, from filmmaker Shin Jeong-won (Who I THINK did THE HOST, but I HATE Asian “horror” flicks, so who gives a fuck).  Below you’ll find the trailer which you won’t understand a fuck of because it’s in Korasian but I do have a few things to say about it.  A:  They already did a Monsterquest Episode about this sort of thing down in Texas and it sucked, the first part, with the hanging hawg reminded me of that abortion of an episode.  B:  There’s already a killer hawg movie set in the land of FOSTER’s beer called RAZORBACK (not a back little flick).  Then there’s C: The last part of the trailer looks EXACTLY like that giant gator flick ALLIGATOR.  So if you like all of those things, and reading subtitles and watching a buncha pussies run scared from a giant ass pork chop, you’ll LOVE this flick.  Check out the Trailer below Courtesy of SHOCK TILL YOU DROP:

UPDATE: WILD MAN OF THE NAVIDAD

I first told you guys about the film THE WILD MAN OF THE NAVIDAD way back in June of last year.  Well, finally, the film will be available to be seen by (just about) everyone (by just about, I mean me, because I can’t gain access to IFC for some damn reason).  The film will be showcased on IFC tomorrow, FEB. 4th, so check your local listings.  In the meantime, check out some creamy video goodness…the trailer and a ‘behind the scenes.’  Man, this one looks to be a good one.  If you like THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK, NIGHT OF THE DEMON(1980), or CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE, you’re just about damn primed to watch this one.  Check it out!

If you’re itchin’ for more from the dastardly duo of Duane Graves and Justin Meeks, search out an early directorial effort HeadCheese, shot on locations of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  It’s a rather creepy flick.
