CHECK OUT THE ALTERNATE POSTER FOR ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane-2006-poster-8

After YEARS and YEARS, Jonathan (Warm Bodies) Levine’s ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE has finally been released in the US. The film hit on demand September 6th and will be playing theaters October 11th – SEVEN YEARS after its Toronto Film Festival Midnight premiere due to so many distribution problems.

Check out my review of the film (from 2008)… I was rather harsh on the film in my early (read: Young and Impetuous) days reviewing horror films, so I’ll probably be doing a secondary review on the film upon viewing the new release now that I’ve grown as a writer & reviewer. My knowledge on the genre and filmmaking in general has improved over the years as well, which can only help. My memories of the film are fonder than my original viewing, so we’ll see. Who knows WHY this flick was shelved so damn long!

In celebration of the theatrical release, an alternate poster has been released that looks like something MONDO might’ve released. Check it out after the break!

13 YEAR OLD GIRL SEEKING KICKSTARTER FUNDRAISING FOR HORROR SLASHER ‘CARVER’

Carver Banner

I’m sure horror fans remember the Zombie Girl: The Movie documentary wherein we were able to watch as 12-year-old filmmaker Emily Hagins spent two years directing her feature-length zombie film, PATHOGEN. Now Thirteen Year Old Emily DiPrimio of Little Red Wagon Films, along with her father, Ron DiPrimio,  is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter to make her very own 80’s style slasher film, CARVER. What would a 13 year old know about 80’s slasher films, you ask? Me too, but she makes a rather convincing argument for her fandom and respect for the genre in the Kickstarter video (see below).
