FIRST LOOK AT THE NEW GODZILLA’S FACE FROM THE SDCC GODZILLA EXPERIENCE

newgs

Ok, so for those of you lucky enough to attend this year’s SDCC (San Diego Comic Con), you may have braved your way through the Godzilla (which I always pronounce GO-JEE-RA!) Encounter Experience. If so, not only were you treated to a city block of mayhem and carnage along with your Godzilla awesome-fix, but reports surfaced of an elevator visitors were rushed into. They were then taken to a room with monitors that looked EXACTLY like windows, with blinds and everything, and treated to a rumbling room and power outages as Godzilla lumbered by some high-rise building. Just when you thought you were safe, suddenly the big atomic beast reared it’s horrific head and stared right at you! There was, for a short time, a leaked spy-cam bit of footage of the entire thing. After watching it, I (less than) tirelessly searched in vein to find it again to show you, my gentle, depraved readers. What I did find, however, was a still image (of negligible quality) showing a first glimpse at the big guy’s face. Check check check it out!

I know, not the best imagery in the world, but it’s one step closer to what I can only imagine will be an amazing film. Granted, it only has to live up to the originals (originals, I might add, that spew atomic fire farts all over the 90’s remake of a giant iguana), but I have a feeling that this is going to be one amazing disaster pic. Legendary Pictures put together an amazing Godzilla Encounter walk-through that gave fans one hell of a tease of what’s to come in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, opening May 14th, 2014. Though guides strictly said that this would not be the finished look, I’m fairly certain we’re damn close at this point. I can’t wait.

NEW PROMO IMAGES AND FOOTAGE FROM EDUARDO SANCHEZ’S BIGFOOT FILM: EXISTS

Over a year ago, we reported that Eduardo Sanchez (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) had been working on the idea of creating a bigfoot film (a trilogy in fact) titled EXISTS. News at the time was:

Eduardo Sanchez – the co-director of The Blair Witch Project – is jumping into Bigfoot lore with a planned film trilogy.

The director will helm EXISTS, a project he penned with his Seventh Moon scribe Jamie Nash.

WETA and Spectral Motion are teaming up to create Bigfoot (whoa!) and shooting is expected to begin this fall just outside of Austin, Texas. Sanchez says EXISTS will be the first film in a trilogy that explores and re-invents the Bigfoot myth and, as he says, make Bigfoot “scary again.”

Creature performer Brian Steele (Predators, Hellboy) will play the legendary monster.

Now, more promotional images have shown up on the web, along with some footage that was a part of a CBS special on cyrptozoology. Keep reading after the break for more imagery and the footage. The clips from EXISTS show up at around the 3:26 mark. And don’t forget to check out the official facebook page for the film while you’re at it!

BLAIR WITCH CREATOR EDUARDO SANCHEZ’S BIGFOOT MOVIE ‘EXISTS’!

A little over a year ago, we reported that Eduardo Sanchez (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) had been working on the idea of creating a bigfoot film (a trilogy in fact).

At SDCC, Sanchez released further information on a project that, personally, I’ve been drooling over since I first heard about it. Here is what he had to say:

From Haxan Films and Amber Entertainment, The Blair Witch Project and Lovely Molly director Eduardo Sanchez is currently in post production on EXISTS, his found footage Bigfoot movie starring Brian Steele, Dora Madison Burge, Samuel Davis, Roger Edwards, Chris Osborn and Denise Williamson.

Penned by Sanchez and Jamie Nash, the horror pic follows a group of twentysomethings who take a trip to a cabin deep in the wooded wilderness and are methodically hunted by a Bigfoot-like beast.

Our main focus in EXISTS was the creature itself which was designed by Spectral Motion,” says producer Jane Fleming at the San Diego Comic-Con. “It’s basically the kind of effects work you’d find in a big budget movie in our small scale film. Actor Brian Steele plays our creature and he is amazing.

Sanchez shot the film found footage style, his first film of the like since Blair Witch Project and we’ve been assured that in the movie the creature will be anything but out of focus and hidden. “The creature is front and center and you see a lot it,” says producer Mark Ordesky. “fans of bigfoot movies are going to be really happy with what we’ve created.

This movie harkens back to the earlier and really creepy Bigfoot films that scared me as a child like The Legend of Boggy Creek,” Sanchez added. “Everything we’ve seen of Bigfoot has been from the first-person view such as the Patterson film when you see him moving through the woods. That’s why this particular subject is ideal t shoot from the found footage perspective.

In terms of the rating Ordesky said, “We’re not tailoring the movie for any particular rating, but contextually alone it definitely lends itself to an R rating.” The film wrapped three weeks ago and is now in post. The inside word is that it’ll start making its rounds sometime around late to early 2013.

‘CABIN IN THE WOODS’ TEASER POSTERS

Shock Till You Drop has put some teaser posters for Joss Whedon’s upcoming, uber-secretive horror flick CABIN IN THE WOODS.  Not overly exciting as, really, we’ve seen it before.  Cabing Fever/Evil Dead anyone?  This film will more than likely be some derivative attempt at a comedic take on the, well, cabin-in-the-woods flick, one of my favorite subgenres.  We’ll see.  Could be interesting.  Check out one of the posters below and click on the poster to see more!
