THE WORLD WAR Z TRAILER MAKES THE FILM LOOK ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS

So while we were on break, the trailer for the long troubled WORLD WAR Z finally showed it’s horrifying face to the world. I suppose it was to show that the film was on track after almost the entire film had to be re-shot but all it really did was piss off fans of the book and zombie films in general. My biggest grief with it, other than the entire thing looking like the horrible films 2012 or THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW with its overly excessive use of CGI, they had to go and fuck with zombies. ZOMBIES! Zombies, folks, are simple when it comes right down to it and I’m certain they could’ve gotten plenty of extras, but no, they had to use computer generated imagery when it came to the zombies as well. Not only that, they (the zombies) somehow, in death, all have become world class athletes and parkour fanatics. Essentially, boils ‘n ghouls, from the trailer alone (and Brad Pitt’s sorry acting doesn’t help), this film is going to suck out loud, no doubt about it.

Look at this shit, CGI zombie f-ing pyramids! WHAT!?

TWO NEW PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 TV SPOTS

As the release date for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 gets closer and closer, the advertising machine has been pumping out clips, posters, and for our purposes today, tv spots; two of which can be found after the break below. I have to admit, after the 3rd PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, I’ve been wondering just where they could possibly go with the franchise. I suppose we’ll all find out soon enough. In the meantime, feast your eyes on the clips below.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 follows the story of Hunter Rey who is now six years old and Katie. They have moved into a house together as mother and son and suddenly the neighbours start  to experience the same hauntings that occured to Katie and Kristi’s family. In the last installment, we learned a bit about how things began, perhaps in this installment, we’ll learn how things will end.

The film is being directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who directed the third film) for Paramount Pictures based on a script by Zack Estrin (a writer/executive producer on ABC’s “The River”). Returning is Katie Featherston, who played Katie, who has appeared in all the films so far. And there are some rumors out there that Joost’s girlfriend, GLEE‘s Diana Agron, might make a cameo appearance.

THREE STILLS FROM PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4

Three stills from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, opening nationwide on October 19th, have hit the web. The clips, the teasers, nor the official trailer, have really given much away (remember when trailers didn’t just show you all the good parts so you didn’t even bother going to see the movie?), and the horror world is staying very quiet about this film just as with the other PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films.

Source: Dread Central

The executive producer and creator of the Halloween films, Irwin Yablans, is releasing his first book, The Man Who Created Halloween, just in time for the yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31st.

The full title is The Man Who Created Halloween: How a Bit of Desperation and Inspiration Gave Birth to the Movie that Changed Hollywood, and it’s chock-full of insider info from Yablans, who is known for his work in the horror film industry. He produced films that include Halloween (1978), Roller Boogie (1979), Nocturna: Granddaughter of Dracula (1979), Halloween II (1981), Hell Night (1981), Blood Beach (1981), and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982).

SYNOPSIS:

The Man Who Created Halloween is the fascinating story of one man’s improbable journey from the tenements of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg to fame and fortune in Hollywood. It is also a chronicle of the shifting winds of change from the old studio system to the emergence of a new breed of independent producers and filmmakers. Replete with fascinating first-hand anecdotes, The Man Who Created Halloween shows us that tumultuous era thru the eyes of famed producer and film executive Irwin Yablans.

Yablans’ career encompasses the entire gamut of motion picture experience from his early years at Warner Brothers to sales chief at Paramount and Orion Pictures, culminating with the start of his own company, Compass International Pictures. But his story is much more. It is a tale of the determination and perseverance that enabled him to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles in a rough and tumble business.

Told in his own words, this candid, no holds barred autobiography finally relates the truth about how the iconic film Halloween came into being. The discovery of John Carpenter and Yablans’ relationship with Moustapha Akkad and Joseph Wolf are discussed in never revealed before detail. Written with humor and fidelity to the truth, The Man Who Created Halloween is an essential addition to any movie lore library as well as an inspirational example of the possibilities for any man who will not be denied.

VIDEO: CHECK OUT THE SECOND TEASER CLIP FROM PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4

A second new clip from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, opening nationwide on October 19th, has hit the web. It doesn’t show much, but it does add to the overall weirdness of the upcoming film. The horror world is staying very quiet about this film just as with the other PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films.

What we do know is the fourth installment picks up where part two left off, as part 3 was a prequel that showed how things began. Perhaps in this installment, we’ll learn how things will end. It’s being directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who directed the third film) for Paramount Pictures based on a script by Zack Estrin (a writer/executive producer on ABC’s “The River”). Returning is Katie Featherston, who played Katie, who has appeared in all the films so far. THE FIRST CUT OF WORLD WAR Z COMES IN AT LESS THAN AN HOUR?

It’s no secret that the WORLD WAR Z production has been nothing if not troubled. Damon Lindelof was recently hired to rewrite the ending, original director Mark Forster was unable to run things properly, letting things get out of hand, and in October of 2011, Hungarian police raided the set of WORLD WAR Z and confiscated 85 unauthorized weapons for cryin’ out loud.

After Lindelof figured out how much additional work was needed when he was brought in to handle the third act, he handed the project off to collaborator Drew Goddard. Sources say Paramount execs only had 52 minutes of continuous footage cut together to show them, along with a few minutes of other action. The film is said to be gearing up for a seven-week reshoot in London.

So much money is being put into re-shoots and re-writes that I’m certain, if they haven’t scrapped the flick by now, we will be seeing the film eventually, but when? Who knows. We’ll keep you posted on events as they keep developing.

SYNOPSIS:

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
