Daryl-Dixon-Walking-Dead

With THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 4 premiere this Sunday October 13th, we here at Backwoods Horror (courtesy of AMC, of course) thought we’d share a few video extras in anticipation of what’s to come. First up is a video catching us all up on what happened at the end of the 3rd season. After than, we get an idea of what it takes to play a badass during the zombie apocalypse. Check ’em out after the break!

In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.).

TEASER FOR BATES MOTEL SEASON 2

Bates Motel Banner

While things got off to a bit of a slow start in the first season of BATES MOTEL, the story slowly began to escalate into madness; not just Norman’s but the psychosis of the entire town as well. It’s the kind of show that grows on you as it takes things slow to build character and story (a rare thing in modern horror/thriller films and television). In addition to the relationship between Norman Bates and his mother Norma, we’re treated to all kinds of weirdness within the picturesque town itself. While not exactly Twin Peaks, there are definitely some elements of that show thrown in as well.

Synopsis:

A modern re-imagining and prequel to the movie Psycho (1960), “this story begins with the earlier years of a teenage Norman Bates and his mother Norma who live in an old house overlooking the adjoining motel which they are renovating. The house and hotel both come with secrets of their own as does the new town which the Bates’ now call home.

Walking Dead Web Series Banner

KNB’s legendary Greg Nicotero, who’s consistently doing some of the best work on THE WALKING DEAD (makeup or otherwise), has been at the helm not only of full episodes, but a series of webisode side stories in the massively popular TV show’s universe. Anticipating the series’ fourth season premiere, his latest work, a three-parter titled THE OATH starring THE LAST EXORCISM’s Ashley Bell, has premiered.

Synopsis:

THE WALKING DEAD: THE OATH tells the story of the lone survivors of a massive walker-attack, Paul (Wyatt Russell, Cowboys and Aliens) and Karina (Ashley Bell, The Last Exorcism), who speed across the countryside, frantically searching for an aid-station as one of them slowly bleeds out from a wound. Finally coming upon a hospital that has not been overrun at first feels like a blessing, but could soon turn to misfortune, as a seemingly benevolent doctor (Ellen Greene, Little Shop of Horrors) may hide a darker agenda.

You can find THE WALKING DEAD: THE OATH in its entirety after the break. THE WALKING DEAD returns for a fourth season on October 13th.
