Below is some wicked concept art for a potential HELLRAISER reboot. We’ve been hearing rumors of a HELLRAISER remake/reboot for a while now with Pascal Laugier (MARTYRS, THE TALL MAN) at one time attached to direct. The art was designed by Paul Gerrard (Wrath of the Titans and Battle LA), and are for a teaser trailer that was directed by Mike Le Han (Mrs. Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room) and produced by the duo.

In July Paul Gerrard (Wrath Of The Titans, Battle LA) and Mike Le Han (Mrs Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room) produced a teaser trailer to accompany the pitch document which has many more conceptual designs that revision HELLRAISER. Paul designed the new look for Pinhead and was production designer on the shoot and Le Han pulled in all of his film resources and directed the teaser on the new Alex 4:3 camera with anamorphic lenses.
With a crew of 47 an over 100 bloodied extras, the shoot was completed and is now in the depths of post production with a massive amount of VFX work being undertaken. Method Studios, Fugitive Studios and Flipbook Animation are helming the chi/VFX with the talented Glen Southern designing the new Hellraiser box.
When the teaser is complete they’ll be presenting it to Dimension Films along with an outline of the first film story and conceptual art pitch document with the hope to work on rebooting the Hell raiser franchise and bringing it into the 21st Century.
I can’t wait to see that teaser trailer…in the meantime, however, check out the concept art below!

Fans of Clive Barker’s film NIGHT BREED have, for a while now, been demanding a release of the full 2 hour 45 minute version of the film titled NIGHT BREED: THE CABAL CUT. Often cited as the director’s true vision, fans have only been able to see the full version of the film at various festival screenings. Recently, however, Clive Barker has released some incredible news via twitter that will be sure to make the fans drool with joy.

He has announced that Morgan Creek is giving permission to show the cut around the world and to raise money to prepare the cut for a release on Blu-ray… This could not, would not, have happened without your voices. We have all been heard. The Morgan Creek team have my thanks and my respect. Very seldom does anyone in the movie business pay attention as they have, understanding perhaps that the message of the movie as I shot it is one that dramatizes a different ending to the age-old story of how a war between Humankind and something Other draws to a close.”

Multimedia horror maven Clive Barker followed the success of his feature directorial debut, Hellraiser, with this equally surreal effort, based on his novella Cabal. The story involves the plight of Aaron Boone (Craig Sheffer), a young man tormented by visions of monstrous, graveyard-dwelling creatures. Seeking the aid of his clinically cold therapist Dr. Decker (played by Canadian horror auteur David Cronenberg) in deciphering his nightmares, Boone becomes convinced that his frequent blackouts are linked to a recent spate of mutilation murders in the area. His frantic search for the truth leads him to the subterranean city of Midian, the dwelling place of a mythical race of undead nocturnal monsters known as the “Nightbreed.” But it is only after he is cornered and shot dead by police that Boone’s real journey begins — he finds himself resurrected as one of the Breed.

Camelot Entertainment Group, Inc. announced today that Camelot Distribution Group has added two horror documentaries to its lineup: Unearthed: The Hellraiser Saga and Zombie Culture: Documentary of the Living Dead.

Both will be distributed through Camelot’s DarKnight Pictures, a division of Camelot Distribution Group. Anthony Masi (Halloween: 25 Years Later, His Name Was Jason) will produce.

“Hellraiser is one of the most recognizable horror franchises and with the studio reboot in 2011, this is great time to produce and release a behind the story feature,” commented Camelot’s Jaime Thompson. “Zombie Culture capitalizes on how zombies have become the most popular movie monster. The film will document zombies from their humble beginnings to their seemingly unstoppable universal appeal.”

Unearthed steps behind the scenes and explores every facet and theme of Clive Barker’s two decades of Cenobites in the Hellraiser series. Zombie Culture, meanwhile, is a retrospective on an eight-decade international obsession with cinematic zombies.
