NEW PROMETHEUS FEATURETTE REVEALS SCOTT RIPPED OFF WHEDON’S SHIP SERENITY

While I’m looking forward to PROMETHEUS as much as the next boil ‘n ghoul, the ship concept and design and, thus, the name of the film, is a complete rip-off of Joss Whedon’s masterful SERENITY. For a while now I’ve been wondering why the ship felt familiar. IT’S BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A FIREFLY CLASS VESSEL from the show FIREFLY and the film version of said show, Serenity. While Prometheus obviously has a completely different storyline, there could be some legal issues at work here if anyone’s actually paying attention. This featurette is specifically about the ship Prometheus and all it’s innards ‘n outtards. Give it a look. If you know anything about Firefly or Serenity, I think you may see more than a few similarities.

The film, Directed by Ridley Scott, opens June 8, 2012 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters, and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Guy Pearce, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Benedict Wong, Emun Elliott, Ben Foster, and Patrick Wilson.

With the release date only a few weeks away, 20th Century Fox and the Prometheus marketing crew have released yet another behind the scenes featurette. NEW INTERNATIONAL ONE SHEET FOR PROMETHEUS

Another day, another bit of marketing from the PROMETHEUS camp. This time it’s an international one-sheet depicting what looks to be the ship Prometheus colliding with an alien craft, potentially stranding the frightened cast upon some distant, hostile planet. Spoiler? Perhaps, or merely clever marketing because it makes one wonder just what happens next. To find out, check out Prometheus in theaters June 8 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters, the anticipated film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.

NEW PROMETHEUS TV SPOT GIVES A GLIMPSE AT MONSTER MENACE

I’ve already seen quite a bit of rumbling on the ‘net about this television spot for Ridley Scott’s upcoming PROMETHEUS, so if you’re offended by spoilers (even teeny, tiny spoilers), DO NOT WATCH THIS TEASER! I, however, have no qualms about spoilers so long as they don’t give away too terribly much about the film. In this case, we get just a slight glimpse of some of the creatures we can expect to see in the ALIEN prequel, along with half a second of body horror reminiscent of the chest-burster scene in ALIEN.

‘THE ROAD’ DELAYED UNTIL 2009?

Posted on 18th October 2008 by aaron in News - Tags: , , , ,

What the FUCK, man.  Are you serious.  According to the boils ‘n ghouls over at Shock Til You Drop, those loveable shitbrains over at The Weinstein Company have pushed THE ROAD all the way to early 2009.

“Thursday talks at The Weinstein Company about what to do with The Road’s have resulted in an official bump to early 2009. The Cormac McCarthy adaptation directed by John Hillcoat was slated for a limited release in early November with a slow roll-out to follow.

Word is, The Road – starring Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee – will bow in February or March 2009.

According to THR, reps at the Weinstein Company refused to comment on the shift, however, buzz from those involved in the production seem to be sighing with relief. Says THR, a longer post-production schedule will allow the team to properly complete Road. It’s also dodging a busy Oscar season.”

Damn.  And this one seems like it’ll be a good one.
