Shock Till You Drop got their claws on the new cover art for the deluxe editions of the first 3 Friday flicks Paramout’s going to be releasing early February 2009 (to cash in on the remake of course). They also reported that a week later, on February 10th, 2009, they’ll be releasing the second season of FRIDAY THE 13th: THE SERIES (not that anyone cares because that show is boring as all hell).  Anyway, check out the keen new art:

Pretty cool. I’ll definitely be picking these up, and the fact that 3 will actually be in 3-D is just fucking amazing.  BUY ‘EM!

A teaser for the upcoming Friday the 13th redux was presented on the scream awards last night and, surprise, has already made it to youtube.  Check it out before it’s pulled!
 

Picked up this bit ‘o news from the folks over at Shock Till You Drop:

Friday the 13th fans unanimously agree Paramount’s previously released DVD box set was lacking. And this fall, the studio’s home video department is taking efforts to make things right. But how far are they willing to go to do so?

As mentioned here on Shock, a DVD production crew has been gathering interviews for a new Friday collection. Other than that info, details have been slim. We recently speculated that Paramount may have been focusing solely on a Friday the 13th special edition and not so much a re-issue of the franchise.

What this means for the rest of the films, we’re not certain. More info to come…

Sounds cool and all, but it still seems like a money grab from Paramount.  We’ll see…  Oh yeah, and Part 3 had better be in fuckin’ 3-D, remastered to third dimension creamy goodness or I’m gonna be pissed!  Jason’s gonna be pissed too!

Just read this news from the boys over at Dread Central:

A while back we gave you guys the first word that Paramount were finally laying down plans to get a real Friday the 13th box set out to fans (read it here) and over the weekend the first bit of confirmation came down from the wilds of Kentucky.

While attending The Scare Fest in Lexington, KY, a reporter from Friday the 13th Films caught one of the panels in which a Paramount rep confirmed that a new DVD of Friday the 13th is being worked on that will be fully restored to include all those infamous missing/extended scenes.

Very cool news for Friday fans, of course, and hopefully we’ll be hearing more about Paramount’s plans for the rest of the films very soon!

Our man Andrew Kasch just called in with some very good news for you Friday the 13th freaks out there…

There has been speculation since the Friday the 13th remake came to life again that perhaps Paramount would go back and give us a decent F13 box set. Well, an inside source confirmed for us today that that’s exactly what’s going down! Paramount is working on a brand new, revamped Friday the 13th box set that will hopefully put their first attempt to shame.

No word on any of the features yet, but we do know that there is a lot being planned. Of course the goal is to have it done in time for the remake’s release on February 13th, 2009, but only time will tell if that mark is hit.

Stay tuned for official details as they come in, as well as even more cool Friday news very soon!

Hot damn this is some good news! Good thing I didn’t pay for the box set they have out already, heh. Just sort of fell into my hands.

And now…TATER SACK JASON!

According to Bloody Disgusting, we’re going to be seeing “Tater Sack Jason”(phrasing coined by the Deadpit Boys) in the new Friday the 13th remake in addition to your standard hockey mask wearing, zombie-esque, psycho serial killer.  I’m not entirely sure why they’re even calling this “film” a remake though, because Jason wasn’t even really IN the first one except in some (spoiler) weirdo dream sequence as he popped up out of the lake as a little messed up looking kid.  This seems like a new Friday movie to me and I think they should just market it as that instead of a “remake.”  I mean, what are they remaking?  Kids in the woods getting killed by Jason?  If that’s a remake, then the Friday franchise was just one remake after another.  Hell…at least he’s not in space.
