‘CABIN IN THE WOODS’ TEASER POSTERS

Shock Till You Drop has put some teaser posters for Joss Whedon’s upcoming, uber-secretive horror flick CABIN IN THE WOODS.  Not overly exciting as, really, we’ve seen it before.  Cabing Fever/Evil Dead anyone?  This film will more than likely be some derivative attempt at a comedic take on the, well, cabin-in-the-woods flick, one of my favorite subgenres.  We’ll see.  Could be interesting.  Check out one of the posters below and click on the poster to see more!

‘ARMY OF DARKNESS’ BLU-RAY COMING SOON

Posted on 17th February 2009 by aaron in News - Tags: , , , , , , ,

Dubbed the “Screwhead Edition,” an Army of Darkness Blu-Ray will be coming to us soon now that rights for the film have reverted back to Universal.  This from Shock Till You Drop:

Now that the rights for Army of Darkness have reverted back to Universal (from Anchor Bay Entertainment), its home video division has announced a Blu-Ray “Screwhead Edition” for May 19th. Special features will include the alternate ending, deleted scenes, The Men Behind the Army featurette, extra footage, theatrical trailer and audio commentary with director Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Ivan Raimi. Exclusive to Blu-Ray: My Scenes, BD-Live and the ability to access production photos during the movie experience.

Another reason for me to look towards finally getting a Blu-Ray player.  I just have this…issue with Blu-Ray discs, the quality of the image onscreen.  Sometimes it looks like crystal clear film, absolutely stunning, and then, at times, it looks as though a high definition soap opera of sorts.  It’s weird how the image switches back and forth and absolutely ruins the viewing experience for me.  I’m not sure if it’s like this with older films, as I’ve only seen newer films in Blu-Ray.  We’ll see.  Wave of the Future and all that.

Interview With Bruce Campbell

Entertainment Weekly has an interview up with Bruce Campbell.  It all ties in somehow with the show Burn Notice, but the interviewer starts off with The Evil Dead and things keep going from there.  He talks with Bruce “Ash” Campbell about new dvd versions of The Evil Dead where it seems to be hinted that there may be another one or two, but not by Anchor Bay as their license is up.  The “Ultimate Edition” was sort of a last hurrah from Anchor Bay.  Personally, I won’t consider it an Ultimate Edition until it gets the 4 disc set treatment that Dawn Of the Dead did, and includes Within The Woods.  Sam Raimi has consistently stated that Within The Woods probably won’t make it onto a dvd release, but we’ll see.  Check out that interview.
