Back in December 2010, we here at Backwoods Horror first reported on some rumblings about a new project directed by WILD MAN OF THE NAVIDAD writer/directors Duane Graves, and Justin Meeks titled BONEBOYS. In that report, we wrote that Kim Henkel, co-creator of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and writer/director of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION had ventured into cannibal territory once again. Then, a few weeks ago, we learned that the film would premiere at the 16th annual Fantasia Film Festival, but things have been quiet on the project since.

Now, in celebration of the premiere, the official trailer has hit the web. Check it out after the synopsis along with the official poster below. And be sure to check out the BONEBOYS official website and facebook page, as well as here at Backwoods Horror for more information as it develops. As of this writing, TCM series alumni Ed Neal and Bill Johnson are rumored to have roles in the film with Ali Faulkner, Johnny Walter, Derek Lee Nixon, Tory Tompkins, Gregory Kelly and Sonny Carl Davis also starring.

SYNOPSIS:

A gut-wrenching, non-stop roller coaster ride through the hellish underbelly of inner-city America. A birthday celebration at an upscale restaurant sets in motion events that bring Sissy, her brother, Mikey, and friends, Kenny and Barbie, face to face with the macabre world of the Boneboys. Inspired by Jonathan Swift’s cannibalistic tale A Modest Proposal, the Boneboys are international predators who deal in human flesh – dead or alive. Their hunting grounds are the cities of the world.

WRONG TURN 5: BLOODBATH ART HITS THE WEB

Honestly, I wasn’t even aware that a 4th installment of the backwoods, hillbilly, mutant cannibal franchise had even been made (I’ll have to look into that), and now I’m getting news of poster art and casting for the upcoming WRONG TURN 5: BLOODBATH, and from the title I can already tell, like me, the filmmakers have just checked out and are making substandard slasher fare. Buuuuuuuut, I could be wrong. I watched 1-3 and the only one I could really stomach was the first in the series. Director and writer Declan O’Brien (Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead, Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, Sharktopus) returns to the helm of his third film in the franchise, with Doug Bradley, best known for his role of “Pinhead” in the HELLRAISER films, Camilla Arfwedson, Roxanne McKee, Simon Ginty, Oliver Hoare, Amy Lennox, Luebke, Duncan Wisbey, Kyle Redmond – Jones, Peter Brooke, Radoslav Purvanov (Ratzata), Georgi Karlukovski and Bobi Iliev starring.

SYNOPSIS:

In the next chilling chapter of WRONG TURN, a small West Virginia town is hosting the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween, where throngs of costumed partygoers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals kill all the fun when they trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students who are dying for a good time.

Which looks quite a bit like…

ELI ROTH RETURNS TO DIRECTING WITH MYSTERIOUS ‘GREEN INFERNO’

Yesterday, a press release was issued from Exclusive Media and Worldview Entertainment announcing that they would be partnering with Eli Roth for his next directorial feature (the first in some time) titled THE GREEN INFERNO. As of now, not much is known about the project other than Roth co-wrote the script for the film with Guillermo Amoedo from an idea he had while traveling in Chile. I think we can speculate a bit on what the project is going to be about, however, given that Roth is a fan of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST and has something of a history with violent cinema. If you boils ‘n ghouls will remember, the film within a film in Holocaust was The Green Inferno as well. I suppose it’s always possible that this title may be intended to throw us off the scent of what he’s actually up to, but if it’s legit, it may be very safe to assume Roth’s next feature is going to be all about bloody cannibal mayhem. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.

Stay tuned to Backwoods Horror for more as this story develops.
