A few days ago, we posted the official poster for the upcoming found footage anthology film V/H/S. Now the Red Band trailer has hit and I have to admit…I’m intrigued. My interest is piqued. Directed by David Bruckner, Glenn McQuaid, Radio Silence, Joe Swanberg, Ti West and Adam Wingard, V/H/S stars Calvin Reeder, Lane Hughes and Adam Wingard and will be opening on VOD August 31st, and will be hitting theaters October 5th. I’m still not exactly sure why distribution/production companies are putting films out on VOD before theatrical release these days. There must be some method to the madness, but it seems almost like it promotes pirating. That being said, it’s an interesting and successful way of getting independent films out to the masses. With any luck, when it finally gets its home video release, there will be a special big box VHS edition. THAT would be badass!

SYNOPSIS:

When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn’t going to be as easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. As they search for the right one, they are treated to a seemingly endless number of horrifying videos, each stranger than the last.
