NEW POSTER AND STILLS FOR DON COSCARELLI’S ‘JOHN DIES AT THE END’
Man oh man it sounds like this year’s Toronto International Film Festival is going to be a hoot ‘n a half, particularly the Midnight Madness series. Another film added to the Midnight Madness lineup is Don Coscarelli’s (PHANTASM, BUBBA HO-TEP) latest and greatest film: JOHN DIES AT THE END. News on the film hasn’t been incredibly forthcoming (That…or I haven’t been paying attention. I suppose I could always read the book…), but what I HAVE heard is all good news boils ‘n ghouls.
Speaking of boils ‘n ghouls, the folk over at Bloody Disgusting got their rotted claws on the newest poster for the film out of a series featuring weapons the protagonists will be using throughout; this one featuring a MacGyvered paintball/propane/flamethrower from hell. SYNOPSIS:
In John Dies at the End, it’s all about the Soy Sauce, a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. Users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly, a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John (Rob Mayes) and David (Chase Williamson), a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t. Adapted from David Wong’s audacious trans-genre horror novel, John Dies at the End is written and directed by Don Coscarelli (Bubba Ho-Tep) and also stars Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti.
