JOHN DIES AT THE END GETS A NEW RETRO PAINTED POSTER
It’s been a while since we’ve heard news about Don Coscarelli’s (PHANTASM, BUBBA HO-TEP) adaptation JOHN DIES AT THE END, being released by MAGNET RELEASING on demand December 27th and hitting theaters January 25th, 2013. Recently, however, Magnet has released an amazing retro-style poster for the film. Yes, yes, I loathe using the term “retro,” but it has been some time since a film has had a fully painted poster released. Why are we consistently inundated with floating heads against some photoshopped background when movie posters should always, ALWAYS be painted works of art worthy of hanging on your wall.
The film stars Paul Giamatti (who executive produced with Daniel Carey), Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Clancy Brown, Glynn Turman and Doug Jones.
SYNOPSIS:
Paul Giamatti plays Arnie, a shadowy figure investigating a street drug known as Soy Sauce. Promising an out-of-body experience with each hit, Soy Sauce causes users to drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human.
Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and Dave (Mayes and Williamson), a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t.
