FIRST LOOK AT CHARITY WAKEFIELD AS MARILYN MUNSTER ON SET OF NBC’S MOCKINGBIRD LANE

Show “creator” Bryan Fuller has released the first image of Charity Wakefield as Marilyn Munster (originally portrayed by Beverley Owen with actress Pat Priest later assuming the role) on the set of NBC’s MOCKINGBIRD LANE. Seems like a damn good match to the original, which is the first time I can say that about the casting for the show.

Pat Priest As Marilyn Munster

Wakefield joins Jerry O’Connell, as Herman Munster, Mason Cook as Eddie, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. Bryan Singer (producer of one of my favorite horror films TRICK ‘R TREAT) is slated to helm the pilot episode. The pilot is described as a “re-imagining” of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and a Frankenstein-esque monster, and their “plain” cousin (played in the reboot by Charity Wakefield) — that will feature interesting themes and visuals in the vein (pun intended) of Fuller’s PUSHING DAISIES. Mason Cook, playing Eddie Munster, is Lily (no longer being played by ?) and Herman’s (played by Jerry O’Connell) only child, an earnest boy scout and budding werewolf. Horrified to learn the truth about himself, he refuses to eat meat, arguing with Grandpa (Eddie Izzard) around the dinner table.

  2. I’m going to give Mockingbird Lane a chance, but Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster bugs the crap out of me. We’ll see…
