EDDIE IZZARD SUITS UP AS GRANDPA MUNSTER FOR NBC’S ‘MOCKINGBIRD LANE’

Show “creator” Bryan Fuller released the first image today of Eddie Izzard suiting up as Grandpa Munster during a wardrobe fitting for NBC’s MOCKINGBIRD LANE. It seems, just from costuming, that they’re definitely straying from original wardrobe design.

Bryan Singer (producer of one of my favorite horror films TRICK ‘R TREAT) is slated to helm the pilot episode. The pilot is described as a “re-imagining” of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and a Frankenstein-esque monster, and their “plain” cousin (played in the reboot by Charity Wakefield) — that will feature interesting themes and visuals in the vein (pun intended) of Fuller’s PUSHING DAISIES. Mason Cook, playing Eddie Munster, is Lily (played by Mariana Klaveno) and Herman’s (played by Jerry O’Connell) only child, an earnest boy scout and budding werewolf. Horrified to learn the truth about himself, he refuses to eat meat, arguing with Grandpa (Eddie Izzard) around the dinner table.
