Somehow this is another one that slipped under my radar. Aside from the whole lesbian angle, which is all well and good, this is also some kind of weird coming of age werewolf flick as well with animation by the friggin’ Quay Brothers (Look ‘em up!). But I’ll let the press release explain things a little better than I can as I’m trying to watch this flick right now at the same time and so far all I’m seeing is a hipster film with a lot of buzz around it. But, as with all movies (except the horribly, horribly atrocious Stockholm Syndrome), I’m going to give it a chance. I mean, come one…there’s a werewolf in it at some point and I’m a SUCKER for werewolves! So far, it seems as though it may be the most clever werewolf film since GINGER SNAPS.
Magnolia Pictures has released some bloody imagery for their indie horror love story, JACK & DIANE, directed by Bradley Rust Grey and starring Juno Temple, Riley Keough, Cara Seymour, Dane DeHaan, Michael Chernus and Kylie Minogue.
Jack and Diane, two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But when Jack discovers that Diane is moving, she pushes her away. Unable to grasp her new feelings, Diane’s emotions begin to cause unexplainable violent changes to her body. Through these awkward and insecure feelings, the two girls must struggle to turn their first love into an enduring one.
It is now available on VOD platforms with a limited theater planned for November 2.
