While we have yet to feast our eyes upon a trailer for the film adaptation of Joe Hill (Stephen King’s son) novel HORNS, directed by Alexandre Aja, a clip has surfaced thanks to the good boils ‘n ghouls over at Collider. I’ve been hesitant thus far to write much on the project as, other than a few stills and a good idea of the general plot outline from folks better than me who’ve actually read the book, not much news has come from the set. For the longest time, all I had rattling around in my brain about the film was, “Harry Potter grows horns and is out for revenge,” but after reading more about it, I have to say I’m rather intrigued. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Juno Temple, Heather Graham, James Remar, & David Morse and was scripted by Keith Bunin based on Joe Hill’s novel of the same name.

Horns 1

Daniel Radcliffe plays the lead role of Ignatius “Ig” Perrish, a guy who has always tried to do the right thing, only to see his whole life abruptly torn away from him. His girlfriend, the one person he loves more than anyone or anything in the world, is killed, and although he’s never charged with the murder, everyone, including his family and friends, believe Ig is responsible. One night Ig goes out in a drunken rage and curses God, and when he wakes, he discovers he’s grown a pair of horns, and that people have a sudden compulsion to confess their darkest secrets and ugliest impulses to him. It isn’t long before Ig turns his terrible new powers to finding the man who killed his beloved, and taking his revenge.
