NECA has really been treating horror fans well for the past couple years and today they showed off something else that should please fans everywhere. In October they will be releasing A Nightmare On Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger and Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees as 8-inch tall, retro-style poseable dolls with fabric clothing.
Jason is based on his first appearance with the infamous hockey mask in Friday the 13th Part 3. He comes with machete and harpoon gun accessories. Freddy is based on his appearance in the original Nightmare on Elm Street movie, and comes with a removable hat and his razor glove. Both come on blister card packaging with removable protective clamshell.
The best news is that these bad ass figures are only listed at $24.99 which means you will probably be able to pick them up for much less at other retailers. Below you can see a couple images of the figures but you can see more at NECA’s site.

“HOW WE MADE THE WOLD’S MOST NOTORIOUS HORROR MOVIE”
Aside from playing Leatherface, one of the most iconic horror icons of all time, in one of the most iconic horror films of all time, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, Gunnar Hansen is actually an established author. His most recent book, CHAIN SAW CONFIDENTIAL, offers an insider’s behind-the-scenes view into the making of the horror classic.
Chronicle Books posted the video preview for CHAIN SAW CONFIDENTIAL, featuring on-camera words from Hansen about the book, which comes out October 1 (retail price: $24.95). In its pages, Hansen, his co-stars and crew from Tobe Hooper’s classic recall the terrors and triumphs of the low-budget shoot in revelatory and sometimes hilarious detail, and also explore the movie’s lasting legacy, fan reaction and classic status. Hansen will be promoting the book at personal appearances and conventions across the U.S. between now and the end of September.

Created and and sold by Etsy seller Bloodlust Productions, the world has now been finally introduced to, I believe, the first ever Evil Dead Necronomicon Bikini! Retailing for $100, the Etsy creator over at Bloodlust Productions describes it as:
A one of a kind Brazilian cut silicone bikini! It is a sculpted piece that is backed with power mesh and is hand stitched for extra durability. It is a very nice fit to the body and is super comfortable! It is lightning fast on water slides as well. Note: This can also be used for costuming and partying!

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! Halloween nostalgia went ripping through my brain when I first heard this news. General Mills, to their astounding credit, is re-releasing all five of their sugary monster themed cereals for the Halloween season. That’s right, Fruity Yummy Mummy, Boo Berry (a personal favorite), Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Frute Brute are BACK, so you’d better stock up on all of your favorites while you still can because you’d better believe I’ll be making a run on the stores! Though I wish they’d kept the original box art, I understand the ideology behind updating it for a new generation of monster kids.
The breakfast cereals will be boxed in modern packaging except at Target stores which will exclusively carry the cereals in retro-styled packaging. Lynne Morioka of the blog A Taste of General Mills reports that “It’s the first time all five of our Monsters have been available, at the same time.”

Synopsis from Fandango:
Traumatized Marybeth (Danielle Harris) faces off against deformed psychopath Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder) once again in this gory sequel that finds director B.J. McDonnell taking over the reins from series originator Adam Green, who penned the screenplay. Having just turned Victor Crowley’s head into raw hamburger with a point-blank shotgun blast, tormented heroine Marybeth must once more fight for her life when the deformed maniac resurrects yet again. Fortunately for Marybeth, a well-placed chainsaw rips Crowley clean in two, allowing her the opportunity to make her way to the closest police station, where Sheriff Fowler (Zach Galligan) is contending with drunken Mardi Gras revelers. Drenched in blood and carrying Crowley’s scalp, Marybeth is quickly hosed down and locked up in a cell. As Sheriff Fowler heads to Honey Island Swamp with his best men to investigate, his ex-wife, disgraced reporter Amanda (Caroline Williams) convinces Deputy Winslow (Robert Diago DoQui) to let her question Marybeth. Meanwhile in the swamp, Crowley descends upon the first responders tasked with cleaning up the shocking scene. With half the force heading in as back-up, Amanda realizes that they key to defeating Crowley may lie in his father’s remains, and talks Deputy Winslow into bringing Marybeth along as they head to a nearby town to retrieve them. By the time Amanda, Deputy Winslow, and Marybeth arrive in the swamp to confront Crowley, the madman has already massacred most of the police as well as a heavily armed swat team led by the fearless Hawes (Derek Mears). Should their bold plan fail, the trio will certainly die horribly. With no options left, they venture into the darkness to confront the legend that never dies.

In true exploitation fashion, Braided Oak Spirits has decided to cash in on the Zombie sub-genre by creating the new Zombie Apocalypse Vodka. So for those of you who have decided that the best way to deal with the zombie apocalypse is to head to your nearest bar or pub and wait for the whole thing to blow over, you now have a very specific and appropriate drink (aside from the amazing cocktail, The Zombie) to tide you over.
