New Rob Zombie’s: TYRANNOSAURUS REX Art

Posted on 6th September 2008 by aaron in News - Tags: , , ,

Pretty slow news day, horror-wise.  Since I’m following the progress of the flick, here’s some brand-spankin’-new conceptual art for Rob Zombie’s upcoming TYRANNOSAURUS REX:

If ya’ll recall, the flick’s synopsis is hazy at best, but seems to follow a similar storyline to that of the Niles/Zombie comic THE NAIL.  So far, all we know is that the story follows a semi-pro wrestler (wrasslar) and his family being persued by a satanic biker gang from hell.  Could be cool, and I for one am glad to see Zombie working on something fresh.  I hope it’s DEVIL’S REJECTS good.  Stay tuned for more kiddos.

Looks somewhat similar, yeah?

More New Art From Zombie’s “Tyrannosaurus Rex”

Looks like Zombie’s kickin’ the Hype Machine into full gear for Tyrannosaurus Rex.  It seems like we’re getting more and more little bits of art and news every other day.  I still don’t know what the movie’s going to be about per se, but if it’s like his comic The Nail, there will be bikes, babes, gore, and satanists.  Sounds like a good time to me.  Check out the new art below:

Ok, so aside from his work on the long delayed The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto, Rob Zombie’s also been working on an extremely secretive project called Tyrannosaurus Rex that, according to him, has nothing to do with the dinosaur.  There’s a ton of speculation that the movie will revolve around the comic that he and Steve Niles did entitled The Nail, a comic that revolves around a semi-pro wrestler and his family traveling the country and running into a bunch of satanic bikers.  Haven’t read it myself, but after reading up on it, I’m damn well going to.  In any case, much of the news around Tyrannosaurus Rex has been speculation as Zombie’s rather Hush Hush on the whole matter, but he has just released some artwork for the film.  Judging from this alone, the movie might very well be as kickass as The Devil’s Rejects.

WTF!? ROB ZOMBIE MADE A WOOLITE COMMERCIAL?

Holy shit. Really, Rob Zombie… Really? A fucking Woolite commercial? Why? Because of the money? You’ve slid downhill with your musical career, though granted, that isn’t really what you wanted to do after White Zombie anyway (According to an old Rolling Stone article), though I will admit a few tracks off Hellbilly 2 weren’t half bad. Your movie career is going to shit with those Halloween atrocities. I’m holding my breath for Lords Of Salem, but so far, from what I’ve heard, it doesn’t sound so great. What happened to Tyrannosaurus Rex? Granted, it was a shit title, but the premise sounded BAD ASS! What happened to that shit? And now you’re doing a Woolite commercial? Gotta pay the bills I guess. ROB ZOMBIE’S ‘LORDS OF SALEM’ PLOT UPDATE

Posted on 16th May 2011 by aaron in News - Tags: , , ,

The boils ‘n ghouls over at Shock Till You Drop have uncovered a bit more about Rob Zombie’s mysterious upcoming LORDS OF SALEM. To sum it up for you, going by the synopsis alone, I’m a bit worried about this one. What happened to Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Biker/Wrestler/Devil Worshiping Cult insanity he had been working on. THAT looked like it would’ve been a badass flick. Anyway, a bit of typo’d synopsis for ya:

Heidi, a blond rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team.”

A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lord’s record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later, Whitey plays the Lord’s record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon, Heidi and her cohorts is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting. The original Lords or Salem are returning and they’re out for blood.

ROB ZOMBIE TO DIRECT HALLOWEEN SEQUEL?!

Posted on 4th December 2008 by aaron in News - Tags: , ,

More news from the boils ‘n ghouls over at Shock Till You Drop has it on a very reliable tip that Rob Zombie will be coming back to direct the sequel to his shitty-ass remake of Halloween.  So, If you’re interested in that sort of thing, there you have it.  Here’s the full story:

Rob Zombie Returning for Halloween 2?

Update – 11:59pm Pacific: Trancas International tells us they are sending out a press release regarding the sequel in the next day or so. It appears we may be on the money with this. This afternoon, I put in one call to one of Zombie’s reps and received a “no comment.” In regards to something of this nature, I fully understand that the producers would want to give it a proper break in the trade papers. So, if confirmation does indeed come down in the coming days, just remember where you read it first!

Too good to let slide until we get some hard facts, a morsel of info has come our way regarding a sequel to Rob Zombie’s Halloween.

It’s been widely reported at this point that Inside helmers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo have parted ways with Dimension Films and Trancas International’s proposed Halloween 2, leaving the door open to anyone. An insider phoned in this afternoon exclusively informing ShockTillYouDrop.com that Rob Zombie may reprise his duties as director and carry on the new Myers legacy that he forged with Tyler Mane behind the mask.

Where does that leave Tyrannosaurus Rex? Well, according to our source, the project is on hold for now since Halloween 2 is expected to start shooting in March. But questions remain: If this is true, has Zombie been at work on a story? Is a script complete? Will a script be complete by March? The man is busy hatching his new album, where’s his focus?

There’s much to consider.
