NEW OFFICIAL POSTER FOR TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D

A few days ago we reported that, obviously, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D had received an ‘R’ rating from the MPAA. Now we have, as you can see from the teaser above, the official poster for the film. It looks like they’ve apparently decided to title it TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, dropping the “THE” and “MASSACRE” for some reason. The “THE” I can understand, but everyone loves a good “MASSACRE.”

First Still From Texas Chainsaw 3D

Directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, the new film – a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s first film, co-written by Hooper and Kim Henkel- stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Sue Rock, Scott Eastwood, Bill Moseley, Gunnar Hansen, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae and Richard Riehle. Produced by Millenium Studios, presently, Lionsgate is aiming to release the film on January 4th, 2013

SYNOPSIS:

Twenty years ago, the town of Newt, Texas exacted vengeance on the Sawyer family for their role in assisting and concealing murders committed by the chainsaw-wielding maniac Jeb Sawyer, aka “Leatherface.” The entire family was presume killed when Burt Hartman led the townspeople to burn down their farm house, but the Sawyer infant survived and was secretly taken away by two of the vigilante townies, Gavin and Arlene, and raised their daughter Heather. It’s not until she’s in her twenties that Heather learns that she’s adopted.

A lawyer for her grandmother tracks her down with word she’s been left an inheritance. Angry at her parents for lying to her, she sets out for Texas on a road trip with her boyfriend Ryan, friends Nikki and Kenny, and Darryl, a hitchhiker they pick up on the way.”

Sister Jude (Jessica Lange)
After a game-changingly merciless freshman season that netted 17 Emmy nods, co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have packed up L.A.’s Murder House and relocated the series to Briarcliff, a Massachusetts mental institution. Though Asylum, which is largely set in 1964, introduces a whole new crop of characters, one of the most anticipated returning players is Lange. After scoring a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Constance Langdon in season 1, Lange now takes on Sister Jude, a nun who’s more sadistic than saintly.

LONG LOST LINNEA QUIGLEY FILM SCREAM QUEEN COMING TO DVD

Oh what divine providence. Just as we here at Backwoods Horror were about to put up our review on the excellent documentary SCREAMING IN HIGH HEELS: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE SCREAM QUEEN ERA, directed by Jason Paul Collum, news comes down the wire that a long, lost Linnea Quigley scream queen film, literally titled SCREAM QUEEEN, has been found, 14 years after it was originally shot!  The film, starring the legendary Quigley, was the first feature film written and directed by cult horror director Brad Sykes (Camp Blood Trilogy, Plaguers) . It will be premiering on September 15, 2012, at the Syracuse Horror and More Film Festival, part of the Scare-A-Cuse Horror and Sci-Fi Fan Convention in Verona, NY. The film will also be receiving an extras-packed DVD release from LEO Films later this year.

SYNOPSIS:

After famous “scream queen” Malicia Tombs (Quigley) dies in a freak accident on the set of her latest chiller, the shoot is suspended and the film shelved. One year later the cast and crew are summoned to an isolated mansion to finish the movie. Everyone is a suspect in Malicia’s untimely death, and a masked killer with vengeance on its mind soon begins bumping them off, one by one. Is Malicia back from the dead, or is someone else responsible? You’ll be screaming – and laughing – all the way till the bloody finish.

THE LORDS ARE COMING IN THE LATEST LORDS OF SALEM PROMOTIONAL ART

“THE LORDS ARE COMING,” so states the latest promotional art for Rob Zombie’s upcoming feature THE LORDS OF SALEM. I’ve got to say, I’m kind of digging on this one a bit more than his “blue period” designs, this promo featuring some type of cultish symbol we can only guess will be important within the film.

Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Davison, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, Barbara Crampton, Michael Berryman, Sid Haig, Judy Geeson, and Patricia Quinn star in the film which has yet to secure a release date.

SYNOPSIS:

Sheri Moon plays Heidi, a DJ at a local radio station, who, together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster), forms part of the “Big H Radio Team.”

A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lord’s record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later, White plays the Lord’s record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon, Heidi and her cohorts are far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting. The original Lords or Salem are returning and they’re out for blood.

300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folk were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.
