For those of you who may have forgotten, here’s a brief synopsis for JENNIFER’S BODY:
Sexy temptress Megan Fox (Transformers) is hotter than hell as Jennifer, a gorgeous, seductive cheerleader who takes evil to a whole new level after she’s possessed by a sinister demon. Steamy action and gore galore ensue as the male student body succumbs to Jennifer’s insatiable appetite for human flesh. Now it’s up to her best friend (Amanda Seyfried; Mamma Mia!) to stop the demonic diva’s reign of terror before it’s too late!
JENNIFER’S BODY will be available on Blu-ray (BD) as a two-disc release featuring a
Digital Copy version of the extended cut for the suggested retail price of $39.99 U.S. /
$49.99 Canada and standard DVD for $29.98 U.S. / $43.48 Canada.

Jennifer's Body On DVD and Blu-Ray December 29th, 2009
And Last, but not least, a Trailer to keep you warm till the Blu-Ray/DVD drops Dec. 29, 2009!
Receiving poor returns upon its initial theatrical release, the Canadian Survivalist Horror Film RITUALS is finally being released on DVD from CODE RED on DECEMBER 22nd. Hard to find on VHS, it has, none-the-less, become something of a cult classic (being included in Stephen King’s DANSE MACABRE, listing it as a MUST SEE). I happened across it some time ago in a now-defunct mom ‘n pop VHS/DVD rental shop and was blown away.
Here’s a brief synopsis from IMDB: Five doctors go on vacation deep in the Canadian wilderness. After all but one pair of the party’s shoes disappear, the remaining shoed camper decides to hike out and go look for help. Soon after he leaves, however, his four companions realizes that something is very wrong when someone leaves a decapitated deer head just outside their camp. Even though they still don’t have their shoes, they decide to follow their friend’s trail out of the woods, but their path is blocked by someone who doesn’t want to see them leave the forest alive.
It has often been compared to Deliverance simply because it deals with friends on a river in the middle of nowhere with some backwoods maniac terrorizing the shit out of ‘em. I can see where the comparison can come from in that there are some superficial similarities, but I’d argue that Rituals is something of a more intelligent film and deals more with the breakdown of friendship moreso than the external terror. The recent copy of RUE-MORGUE magazine features the flick as it’s cover story (if you don’t read RUE MORGUE…WHY THE FUCK NOT?) and features quite a long interview segment with the stars of the film and the screenwriter. I’m really looking forward to this release and YOU can look forward to my full review when I get my hands on the DVD from Code Red.
This looks like some wicked awesome news. This from ShockTillYouDrop:
Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis of Valve’s Left 4 Dead are going to cross paths with the new survivors of Left 4 Dead 2 – Coach, Ellis, Nick and Rochelle – in an upcoming DLC add-on arriving this spring for the Xbox and PC.
“The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign,” says Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. “It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry.”
Expect a new “uncommon common” zombie, too! Can’t wait to see how the survivors interact.
I’m not the first, nor will I be the last to say, well, this movie looks like stirfry shit on toast with shit on the side! Good GAWD it looks awful. Other than all that, I’ll reserve my opinions till I see it. Below is a trailer if you want to see it, which you might, so here it is…
Courtesy the boils ‘n ghouls over at ShockTillYouDrop, we get a glimpse at the Alternate Ending to Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN 2. I’ve hear a lot of folks taking a giant dump on this one, but, I gotta tell ya, I liked it. Before ya’ll start throwin’ hellfire my way, I’ll explain myself upon a second viewing, but, in short, I liked it because it felt more like HIS film than the first, and I can appreciate that. Anyhoo, check out the alternate ending below!
This flick, SEASON OF THE WITCH (not a remake of the Romero flick) looks fairly promising, DESPITE starring Nicholas Cage (who I haven’t been able to stand in ANYTHING other than RAISING ARIZONA). Check out the Trailer and Poster/One Sheet below!
This is one I will be attending, so expect a review as soon as I catch a glimpse. “You’ve got to pick up every stitch, beatniks are out to make it rich…..ooooooh, must be the Season of the Witch!”
More as it develops. Thanks go out to ShockTillYouDrop for the heads up about the poster!
After going on quite a little hiatus, I have returned my dear, dead readers. I’ll be posting a few updates later today, but I’d like to start my return to the shack with some nostalgia from ’72 with Vincent Price on THE DATING GAME! He was there promoting the second Dr. Phibes flick. Enjoy kiddies!
